Overview

Locale: Blockhouse of Fort Recovery in Western Ohio Following the Revolutionary War, the British retained their forts near the Great Lakes and encouraged the Indians to establish a territory in which no white settlement would be permitted. Anthony Wayne’s victory over the Indians in 1791 drove a wedge between the British and their Indian allies and brought security to the Ohio settlers.
