Cat Stevens

Overview

A teen idol of the 1960s and one of the greatest singer-songwriters of the 1970s, Cat Stevens fled the media spotlight at age 25, at the height of his success. At 29, he converted to Islam, changed his name, and abandoned his pop career. In a conversation with Bial, he discusses how he has been balancing his Muslim faith with the release of new albums and the remastering of old classics since 2006.
