The eastern coastline, battered by the full fury of the Atlantic, is a testament to a history of struggle. Here all life fights for a foothold amid vistas of unparalleled beauty. From untouched, remote northern landscapes to the freshwater havens in the eastern heart of the nation this is the story of the great wilderness of the Canadian East.

This shows remote canyons, wild areas were nature reigns supreme beside fantastic waterfalls and rivers. Some of the animals featured are orca ( killer whales ), octopus, crabs, starfish, pine martins, bald eagles, Kermode bears ( the spirit bear ), snails, snowy owl, bank swallows, coyote, richardsons ground squirrels (gophers), sharpe-tailed grouse, bison, sand hill cranes, bighorn sheep, black bears, pika, grizzly bears, Columbian ground squirrel, elk, moose, caribou, wolves, mountain goats, seals and fish eagles.

This final part of our journey into the Great Canadian Wilderness takes us deep into the heart of the majestic North - a vast canvas of imposing landscapes and untouched nature. This is wilderness on a grand scale, where the struggle for survival is at its most intense. In one of the last unbroken tracks of wilderness in the world, the challenge of extremes is met with beauty and strength.
