A gang of thieves pass themselves off as police officers in order to take advantage of the gullibility of the elderly. The criminals, belonging to a group of travellers, are arrested. But the victims have difficulty in identifying them and the travellers' community closes ranks to protect the black sheep.

The party is at its height in the sumptuous apartment of a former government minister, when one of the guests takes a fall. Suicide, accident or attempted murder? The same evening, mysterious visitors succeed in entering the home of a journalist to place hidden microphones...
