Playing in pairs, the contestants go head-to-head to create a dish from eight ingredients in hopes of securing a spot in the Top Chef kitchen.

The chefs are tasked with creating a 'positive' dish that inspires optimism and another that highlights their cooking techniques and identities.

The chefs are tasked with creating the perfect poached eggs dish. Later, they must create movie-inspired dishes to serve to the customers of a drive-in cinema.

A knife draw determines the ingredients each chef will have to use to create today's first dish. Later, the chefs team up in threes to create the second dish.

The chefs must use five originally discarded ingredients to create their dishes before switching places and picking up where their competitors left off.
