Overview

Before the mysterious disappearance of the ancient Maya, Belize was the nerve center of this advanced civilization. Hundreds of ruins dot the landscape and reveal clues to bloody Mayan rituals, advanced architecture and a belief in an unforgiving underworld of Mayan gods.
