The event is a benefit in support of the Universal Peace Sanctuary, which is currently under construction in Lumbini, Nepal. Guardian Girls is an initiative that empowers and teaches girls and the vulnerable, how to defend themselves through martial arts training. Correspondent Mary David caught up with karate champions Elisa Au and Sakura Kokumai at the training in Los Angeles. Her interviews include the Consul General of Japan Sone Kenko and Nia Lyte of the Koyamada International Foundation that held the training with the United Nations Population Fund.
