Overview

Originally from Korea, Jinyoung Lee spent a year in Hawaii and fell in love with the islands. After moving to Hawaii she missed her home country and struggled to connect with new friends in her new environment. After forming relationships through her journalism work, she stumbled across the origins of the first ever Korean immigrants arriving to the US, in 1903, more specifically to Hawaii. This piece of information gave her great purpose and a mission to develop documentaries on the history and preservation of Korean culture in the US.
