Overview
The Teatro Experimental do Negro (Black Experimental Theater) emerged in the 20th century with the innovative aim of valuing Afro-Brazilian culture, experimenting with theatrical styles, and, above all, training Black actors. Founded by Abdias Nascimento, the TEN was revolutionary for Brazilian theater.
