Programme looks at the work of Russian animator Yuri Norstein, and enters a centre for young offenders where the inmates are attempting to animate their own experiences.

A look at how animation has been used to break taboos of sex and violence. Includes clips from BURIED TREASURE (a piece of silent cartoon erotica from 1928), the evangelist claymation series of the early 1960s, DAVEY AND GOLIATH, and Ralph Bakshi's COONSKIN

Celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Arts Council/Channel Four scheme "Animate!", following the fortunes of this year's crop of applicants, and with a brief history of British experimental animation.
