Arc 1: The Land of Rice Fields Jiraiya takes Naruto and Sakura to investigate the Land of Rice Fields, which is believed to be the location of Orochimaru's hideout.

Arc 2: Search for the Bikochu With Jiraiya away, Naruto joins Team 8 on a mission to locate a rare bikochu beetle, which could potentially track down Sasuke.

Arc 3: Curry of Life While out training, Naruto finds three injured men and brings them back to the village for treatment. They explain their village has been overtaken by the Kurosuki family, led by a former member of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, and beg for help. Naruto joins Team Guy on a mission to remove the Kurosuki family from this village.

Arc 4: Ultimate Weapon A group of ninja invade the Hidden Sand village and kidnap Gaara's only student, challenging him to rescue her. In the Leaf Village, an emergency response team is dispatched to aid the Sand Village.

Arc 5: Departure Naruto finally leaves the Leaf Village with Jiraiya to begin training. The first thing on the agenda: how to deal with genjutsu.
