Woody is trying to sleep in the middle of the big city but there is way too much noise. He decides to vacation at the peaceful Tooti Fruiti Islands.

A street vendor is selling walking toy woodpeckers on a street corner. A large limousine stops, and a richly-dressed lady steps out to purchase a toy for her son. Woody pictures a luxurious future in a home as she would have to offer, so he quickly imitates the walking toy.

In a Florida swamp, starving Gabby Gator has a little diner. Things are slow; he is just waiting for a good meal to come along.

Woody annoys a certain homeowner by pecking the antenna of his TV set.

Woody escapes from the rain and lightning into the castle of a mad scientist.

Woody is a window washer, on his way home he annoys the bus driver with his ladder.

In the ghost town of Spooksville, Arizona, Woody Woodpecker tangles with an outlaw who disguises himself as a ghost to scare Woody away.

In Florida, a starving Gabby Gator is fishing in the swamp for his dinner. He only succeeds in catching a news magazine which has an article Woody Woodpecker who says, "Southern cooking is my favorite!" The crafty gator lures the woodpecker to his shack with a letter promising him a luxurious feast.
