Series 1

Appalled by the shabby state of the local cemetery, Lizzie decides to launch a political career, with wholehearted support from Alex, who welcomes any opportunity to get her out of the house. But when Harry tries to thwart her plans, the campaign takes a surprising turn.

When an unexpected announcement from Harry's girlfriend shatters their relationship, Lizzie persuades Alex to intervene, with disastrous results.

Alex arranges for Lizzie to be interviewed by the local newspaper, but must face the formidable task of molding her into a more media-friendly personality.

When Alex collapses and falls into a semi-coma, Lizzie must resort to desperate measures to shock him back to consciousness.

A new editor's demand for a hip and funky column leads Alex and Lizzie on an ill-fated foray into the London club scene.

The Cameron marriage grows fiercely competitive when Lizzie attempts to return to the workforce and Alex decides to defy age by taking up extreme sports.

Lizzie moves in temporarily with Harry so that Alex can work on his novel in peace and quiet, but these new living arrangements don't work out so well for anyone.
