Season 1

Carolina is lost in thought. Augusto helps a runaway slave escape and now needs to hide him. Felipe invites his friends to a party in Paquetá.

Unbeknownst to her, Dona Lalá removes the barrel from the room. Leopoldo returns after the war and is examined. Fabrício decides to go to Paquetá. Luiza arrives in Paquetá.

Augusto asks Felipe for help. Augusto visits his father, but finds his distant behavior strange. Fabrício asks Augusto for a favor to deal with Joana. Simão is discovered.

Rafael opens the barrel. Carolina and Clementina are anxious for the students to arrive. Gustavo tricks Dona Lalá. João Bala threatens Juca. Augusto sees Carolina.

Carolina and Augusto are introduced. Felipe makes a request to his grandmother. Felipe and Clementina go for a walk. João Bala orders the boarding house to be watched. Carolina and Felipe don't like what they see.

Felipe gives up on talking to his grandmother. Gustavo and Fabrício try to help Simão. Clementina is reprimanded by some of her friends. Augusto tries to get Felipe to shift his focus away from Clementina.

João Bala and his men surround the boarding house. Felipe can't stop talking about Clementina. Leopoldo is discharged from the hospital. Dona Lalá is puzzled by Rafael's delay. Fabricio interrogates Rafael.

Gustavo puts his plan into action. João Bala gets angry. The students begin planning their trip to Paquetá. Juca sends a message to Felipe. Leopoldo introduces his slave.

Duda discovers the truth about Simão. Carolina tells her brother to forget Clementina. Fabrício tries to find out Augusto's romantic interest. João Bala insists on finding Simão.

Carolina discovers Simão's secret. Fabrício and Augusto travel, and João Bala plans to go after them. The boys make a bet with Augusto. Joana and Fabrício meet.

Joana falls for Fabrício's plan, and he uses it as an excuse to break up with her. The girls hatch a plan to teach him a lesson. Clementina pursues Augusto and becomes furious with him.

Felipe and Augusto are desperate about the doctor Donana sent. Augusto and Carolina make a deal. Fabrício gets rejected by all the girls. André reveals a secret to Gustavo.

Gustavo considers joining the Masonic group. Fabrício decides to pursue the last girl he has left: Carolina. Joana and Leopoldo talk. Felipe refuses to leave his room.

Augusto tells Felipe to forget about Clementina. Fabrício uses all his resources to win Carolina over, but fails. Fabrício and Augusto make a bet about the girl.

Donana questions Augusto about his closeness to Carolina. Marina hatches a plan to get Kleberc and Violante together, and the boys help. Simão is discovered by Tobias.

Donana finds Felipe's behavior strange. Augusto hints at an interest in Carolina. Leopoldo falls ill and is examined by André, who goes to Paquetá.

André decides to take Simão with him. Clementina asks Felipe for help to stay with Augusto. André makes a proposal to Leopoldo. Fabrício tells Carolina about the bet with Augusto.

João Bala arrives in Paquetá. Quininha becomes interested in Leopoldo. Gustavo and Juca wonder about João Bala's whereabouts. Carolina rejects Augusto. Clementina looks for Augusto.

Luiza makes a request to Leopoldo. Gustavo organizes a tribute to Aimmè. João Bala's henchman finds Simão. Juca, pressured by João Bala, ends up saying too much.

Fabrício takes Simão away from Paquetá. André takes João Bala to his henchman and tries to confuse him with lies. Donana tells everyone that Simão was there, and Luiza is not happy.

Simão reunites with Duda. Fabrício tells Augusto that he's going back to Paquetá to ask Carolina to marry him. Clementina says something that leaves Felipe devastated. João Bala returns.

João Bala arrives in Rio de Janeiro determined to find Simão. Fabrício decides to stay in Rio. Joana makes a tempting offer to Leopoldo. Augusto returns to Paquetá.

Marina manages to capture Felipe's attention, but everything changes with Clementina's arrival. Gustavo is impressed by a new baron in town. Felipe makes a decision that worries Donana.

João Bala accuses Gustavo of forging Simão's manumission papers. Everyone is surprised by Marina's sudden return. Fabrício tries to find out the history of Augusto's emerald.

Leopoldo is late returning from prison, worrying André. Felipe plots something to provoke hatred within the family. Fabrício appropriates Augusto's story and lies to Carolina.

Leopoldo's condition worries João Bala, who decides to release the boy. Fabrício and Augusto return from Paquetá. André lets Quininha stay in Rio for another day.

Duda discovers that Simão has run away. André tells Augusto about his secret. Quininha and Leopoldo reunite, but he notices his beloved is distressed. João Bala kidnaps Quininha.

Luiza and Joana finally find Quininha. Luiza demands that Leopoldo stay away from her daughter. João Bala tortures Simão. Quininha makes a decision.

Leopoldo and Augusto pressure Jerônimo and poison him against João Bala. Carolina remains firm in her decision. Felipe decides to go to São Paulo. Quininha meets Leopoldo.

Quininha has a serious conversation with Leopoldo and makes a decision. Students begin to protest in favor of Simão. Joana advises Carolina. João Bala hatches a new plan against Simão.
