When it comes to bedtime, living in a luggage locker at Marylebone Station can be a problem for Mike Upchat. He solves it by living up to his pen-name at a party for liberated ladies.

When Mike's old English teacher invites herself to tea, she expects to be entertained in surroundings becoming of a successful writer.

Borrowing a car for a few days is simple for the smooth-talking Mike Upchat. The problems arise when he realises he has no address to have the vehicle delivered to. St Edwin's Hospital seems to offer a temporary solution.

When Mike discovers that old Albert is not getting a retirement gift after 35 years devoted service, he decides to take action.

The law finally catches up with Mike and he finds himself in court. No doubt he will have some pretty good stories up his sleeve.

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailor — Mike Upchat could pass himself off as any of these, and many more too. But when challenged to impersonate a computer expert it looks as though he has met his match.

A problem arises for Mike when he decides to pass himself off as someone and then realises he doesn't know what they do for a living. But a pretty girl spurs him on in the charade — and he carries it off with his usual panache.
