Shorty tries to do something a bit special for Mum on Mother's Day but Randy isn't too happy about the idea of a family day out in Brighton and a girl on the train finds herself getting close to both brothers.

Shorty has a night out with his girlfriend at a local Chinese restaurant. Choosing a table turns out to be as difficult as ordering food and, then, Randy and his drunk friend gatecrash the meal.

Shorty's date with Kath goes awry with the arrival of Mum's latest, and rather uncouth, admirer.

Shorty has a disastrous first meeting with Kath's parents when he embarks on an impromptu visit.

Shorty confesses his love for Kath to his family, but at the pub Kath confesses her love for Randy.

Kath uses Shorty to get close to Randy once again, although the latter tries to avoid her advances.

Called out to Kath's church to undertake an electrical repair, Shorty sees this as a sign from God and contemplates proposing.

Kath and her family are invited over to Shorty's for Sunday lunch. During the meal, Shorty announces his engagement to Kath and no one is more surprised than the bride-to-be.

While up to their necks in soap at the laundromat, Shorty learns of Kath's love for Randy. Can they convince him it's all a big misunderstanding before they all drown?

A night at the pub creates some unexpected love triangles after Shorty and Kath get stuck in a lift together.

Kath is pregnant with Randy's child, but Mum convinces her that the most reliable long-term option is to marry Shorty, but she'll have act fast to make everyone think he's the father.

Kath is looking to be intimate with Shorty to hide the paternity of her baby, but their trip to Bournemouth only gets as far as a farmhouse on Salisbury Plain, where the after-dark shenanigans do not quite go to plan.
