Nora Powers, head of personnel at Ashvale Advertising, is joined at the firm by her husband George, though not in the role she'd intended.

Nora struggles to maintain her status in work, as George's position causes her stress.

Sharon, one or the typing pool, injures her leg, needing time off, Nora decides to impose strict disciplinary measures on timekeeping.

Bambi is upset when everyone changes their holiday plans, as she has nobody to go away with, until Nora makes a suggestion.

Bad timing for George, he puts his back out, and meets the bit chief, Mr Withers.

Nora grows jealous when George begins getting a lot of attention from the ladies at work.

A secret has gone around the building, and Nora is the last to know, but then she's the last to know anything.

Nora and George return from holiday in Spain, with the blues. George wonders why they don't make Spain a little more permanent.
