At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Richard Jewell noticed a suspicious package in Centennial Park and saved hundreds of lives, but the media deemed him a βhero bomber.β
When the Centennial Park bomb was not as successful as heβd hoped, Eric Rudolph, the real bomber, planned more attacks on innocent civilians and law enforcement.
Eric Rudolph went into hiding in the woods once he got wind that law enforcement had issued a warrant for his arrest.
Ericβs anger over his fatherβs death, his rejection from the Special Forces, and his belief that he was superior to others fueled his violent hatred.
Eric was able to survive in the woods for five years, a move heβd prepared for emotionally, mentally and practically for years prior to implementing his plans.
After his capture by a rookie cop, Eric claimed he committed the bombings to stop abortion, but experts say otherwise.
