Biography

Justine Lawrence Lopez is a a film and theater actor hailing from Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines. His experience in acting spans back to his early teenage years at the age of 13 years old alongside fellow filmakers his age and has continued to hone his craft ever since. He is known for portraying introspective working class characters and began acting professionally in student-made films such as Tingog (2022), and Bomba (2025). His breakthrough role was with the eccentric short Ambot wa ko kabalo unsay i-title ani (2024) and as of recent, has now taken on the role of the quietly troubled Roy in Silkscreen (2026), which went on to win the Silver award at the 2026 Montañosa Film Festival's narrative short category. He best embodies roles that highlight the visceral interplay between psychological and socioeconomic struggle, characters whose primary endeavor is to find their footing in a world which often misunderstands them. Through his films, he hopes to impart the value of persevering in passion and advocates for creatives to find beauty in the struggle.
