Myles Cunningham

Biography

Myles Edward Cunningham is an Australian filmmaker and creative producer from South-West Sydney. Working across writing, directing, producing, cinematography, sound design and post-production, he began making films at the age of 14, when he wrote, directed and edited his first short film. He later completed an Associate Degree of Film at SAE Creative Media Institute in Sydney. Cunningham’s credits include the short film Anniversary, which he wrote and directed, and The Show Must Go On, for which he served as producer and cinematographer. Created as part of the Sydney Underground Film Festival’s TAKE48 Film Challenge, the film received the 2022 Audience Favourite Award. His subsequent work includes writing and producing Whisky Business and Zygote, directing and editing the mini documentary A Look at Video Nasty, and serving as director of photography, sound designer and motion graphics artist on Alley-Oop. The documentary was selected as a finalist for AACTA Pitch: Uncovered and screened for an audience of filmmakers and industry judges. A regular collaborator with Sydney independent production company Video Nasty, Cunningham continued the partnership as a writer, producer and first assistant camera on Nosebleed, a finalist in the 2026 TAKE48 Film Challenge. His work reflects a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to independent filmmaking, with a particular interest in visual storytelling and the creative process behind the screen.
