Biography
Harsha Vardhan (born October 9, 1974) is an Indian actor, screenwriter, and film director who works predominantly in Telugu cinema and television. He gained early recognition playing the titular protagonist Icchapurapu Amrutha Rao in the long-running television sitcom *Amrutham* (2001β2007), a role he later reprised in its digital sequel *Amrutham Dhvitheeyam* (2020). Concurrently, he established a prolific career as a character actor, appearing in features including *Aithe* (2003), *Anukokunda Oka Roju* (2005), *Leader* (2010), *Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo* (2020), and *Saripodhaa Sanivaaram* (2024). In addition to acting, Vardhan transitioned into screenwriting, providing dialogues for the thriller *Vishaka Express* (2008) and the sports drama *Guru* (2017). He gained notable industry recognition for writing the screenplay for the romantic comedy *Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde* (2013) and the dialogues for the fantasy drama *Manam* (2014). In 2023, he made his feature directorial debut with the action comedy *Maama Mascheendra*, which he also wrote. His subsequent acting credits include the streaming series *Save the Tigers* (2023), the drama *Court: State vs. A Nobody* (2025), and *Mana ShankaraVaraPrasad Garu* (2026).
