Martin DiCicco

Biography

Martin DiCicco is a New York-based director and cinematographer whose debut feature, All That Passes By Through a Window That Doesn't Open (2017), won the Regard Neuf Award at Visions du Réel, the Cinematic Vision Award at the Camden International Film Festival, and the Artistic Merit Prize at Taiwan's IDF. His short Here There Is No Earth (2018), about a tragedy on the Turkish-Armenian border, premiered at the New York Film Festival and screened at MoMA's Doc Fortnight and Zinebi. As a cinematographer, he shot Brett Story's The Hottest August and Cecilia Aldarondo's Landfall, along with their companion Field of Vision shorts CamperForce and Picket Line, and served as cinematographer on the Oscar-shortlisted UNION (2024). He was part of the director/DP team on Undrafted, a 2016 Emmy nominee for Outstanding Documentary Series, and his recent camera work includes Pacho Velez's Searchers (Sundance 2021) and Elizabeth Lo's ESPN commission Girls Got Game. DiCicco is a 2020 Guggenheim Fellow and an alum of the New York Film Festival's Artist Academy.
