Allu Arjun

Biography

Allu Arjun is an Indian actor who primarily works in Telugu cinema. Born in Chennai on April 8, 1982, he began his career as a child artist before making his lead-actor debut in Gangotri (2003). He rose to prominence with his roles in Arya (2004) and the action films Bunny (2005) and Desamuduru (2007). In 2008, he starred in the romantic drama Parugu, for which he received his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu. Arjun subsequently starred in successful films such as Aarya 2 (2009), Julayi (2012), Race Gurram (2014), S/O Satyamurthy (2015), Sarrainodu (2016), and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020). His performance in Pushpa: The Rise (2021) brought him greater recognition outside Telugu cinema and earned him the National Film Award for Best Actor, making him the first Telugu actor to receive the award in that category. Arjun is also known for his dancing. He has received several accolades throughout his career, including Filmfare, Nandi, and SIIMA Awards. Beyond acting, Arjun is involved in the film-exhibition business. He is associated with AAA Cinemas and has also been involved with Allu Cinemas, which was established by his father, Allu Aravind.
