Venom: The Last Dance

These Venom movies have become almost a guilty pleasure for me. I liked each sequel better than the last, but hear me out. I totally get why die-hard Venom fans would _despise_ this series. Viewing them from a neutral stance these can hardly be called cinematic masterpieces. The first movie is straight up just a snoozefest, didn't care much for that one. "Let There be Carnage" however, felt really refreshing to me in the sense that it wasn't _trying so hard_ to be great. Combined with the absurd nature of everything, I found it kind of hilarious and oddly endearing. With "The Last Dance", I started off disappointed. It starts off kind of drab and bleak, but towards the middle or so I felt that unintentional charm being picked up again, and I left with the notion that this was the best out of the three. This is despite some just _horribly bad acting_, plenty of cringeworthy moments and dubious writing overall. So why do I like it so much? As I rack my brain trying to figure that out, the reason is written in large, bold letters, but it pains me to admit it: "It's Deadpool with a complete lack of self-awareness". These movies are simple, stupid fun, and they don't feel the need to justify themselves to the viewer constantly.
