Plagued by the conviction that she could have saved Hugo—her twin brother, who died of an epileptic seizure—Marlène, a rising ASMR artist, finds sleep becoming a threat: night after night, sleep paralysis pins her to her bed, where her brother’s presence lingers. This psychological thriller draws on the tropes of the haunted-house genre to explore grief and the downward spiral of a woman no longer sure whether Hugo has returned for revenge, or if something far more sinister has taken hold of her.
