Barbed Hula
Overview
A stark, looping performance piece in which Sigalit Landau spins a hula hoop made of barbed wire at sunrise on a TelβAviv beach. The work turns a familiar gesture into a charged act of desensitization, merging bodily risk with the political tensions of bordersβboth geographic and subβskin. The speed of the movement blurs pain into endurance, transforming a simple dance into a meditation on danger, history, and the invisible forces that shape a bodyβs relationship to its environment.
