The Marriage of William Ashe

Overview

n England, Lady Kitty Bristol leaves a French convent school after reading a radical book called Freedom written by Geoffrey Cliffe. While visiting London, Kitty meets both Geoffrey Cliffe and William Ashe, who serves as the Secretary of Home Affairs. Kitty marries William. She draws mean caricatures of British cabinet members, which amuses her husband. Geoffrey tells her to publish these drawings in a book to help William's political career. Kitty then causes a major public scandal by dressing almost seminude at a charity event.: William is forced to resign from his position. When he finds out that Kitty has left him, he confronts Geoffrey about his bad influence. In the end, William tracks Kitty down at a convent, and the couple reconciles.
