Overview

In Montreux, Marie silently loves Georges, who instead loves her sister Jeanne. At his request, Marie helps unite them, then deliberately contracts tuberculosis through despair. Months later, as Jeannie and Georges celebrate at a flower parade, Marie dies alone at her window.
